Elton

Why Elton? ... Because he's a Rocket Frog.

Painted after I found a very cute little Rocket Frog in our bathroom after rain. And no, he was not quite as colourful as this one. But when do I ever let colour stand in my way?

The striped rocket frog has incredibly long and powerful legs, which can propel this little frog over vast distances (comparable with it's size). It is actually a type of tree frog but despite this, spends the majority of it's life on the ground due to the fact that the sticky discs on their toes are simply not big enough to allow them to climb with ease. They spend their nights rustling among leaf litter on the ground, looking for beetles, spiders, flies, bugs and ants. They hang out in coastal areas, swamps and open forests, rocket frogs are also common backyard visitors.
